On a recent visit to our nation’s Capitol my family and I paid a visit to the National Zoo. If you have never been there you owe it to yourself to make the short trip from the downtown/National Mall area to visit this wonderful zoo and see the pandas and the other wildlife offerings. While we were touring the animal habitats I notice something that I thought was a large bug zip right past my face and stop at the flowers that were just a few feet from where I was standing. With my camera in hand I was able to pivot and snap this photo. I was really amazed by my little flying friend as I had never been so close to a humming bird before and this little creature’s ability to move so precisely was nothing short amazing.
